Who this is for

This option is for visitors aged 24 or under who hold a valid student ID, which must be shown at the gate. Each visitor needs their own ticket of the right type; visitors over 24, or without a valid student ID, need the adult ticket. You can add the optional English audioguide to your ticket.

On the day

The Egyptian Museum stands on Tahrir Square in the heart of downtown Cairo — the historic museum opened in 1902, not the Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza. Inside is the world's greatest collection of pharaonic antiquities: the treasures of Tutankhamun including the solid-gold funerary mask, colossal royal statues, jewellery, sarcophagi and papyri across two floors. Bring your valid student ID, walk straight in past the ticket-office queue, head for the Tutankhamun galleries first if you can, and allow two to three hours for the highlights. The Royal Mummies moved to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation in 2021 and are no longer shown here.
